Cut & Run
‘Cut&Run’ is a group exhibition of original works by British illustrators Jack Teagle, Matthew Bromley, Ryan Chapman and Matthew Dent. The show aims to bring together four bold individual illustration styles and explore their unique visual take on adventure, hunting, afterlife, happiness and beyond.
Jack Teagle's original paintings are centred around revenge, murder, anxiety and loss. People being plagued by heinous acts they have committed, and the ghosts that haunt them. While, Matthew Dent has created a series of prints based around the concept of two rival gangs 'The Cutters' and 'The Runners' along with resin cast figurines of the gang members.
Ryan Chapman's original paintings focus on a series of characters that cut away from their jobs and normal lives, and ran off to persue what made them happy - be that surfing and sailing the seven seas or returning to the wilderness and making sweet music. He has also produced a limited edition run of two bottled ships to accompany his work. Matthew Bromley has created a set of lively paintings on wood, accompanied with severed heads - "the trophies of his very cute but deadly hunters.
